I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in NYC with expertise in identity and identity development. I teach and mentor in the Applied Psychology Undergraduate Program (APUG) at NYU and conduct research on identity-related experiences of marginalization and the associated impacts on well-being. My clinical training includes work with leading NYC sites: including the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) Psychotherapy Center for Gender & Sexuality (PCGS) and Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone (designated as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for their Gender Service).

In private practice, I help clients explore and understand their identities, fostering self-compassion in place of shame. I also offer comprehensive evaluations to identify goals related to gender identity and expression, assessments for letters, and other supportive services tailored to each client's needs.

Taylor explains, “Floodlighting is a defense disguised as vulnerability, where emotional content is unloaded early, creating an illusion of closeness.” This trend appeals to those seeking instant intimacy in a fast-paced culture. However, true connection requires time and trust. Floodlighting offers a false sense of intimacy, keeping individuals emotionally distant while appearing open. Slow down and foster genuine relationships.
