Theresa Vergara is a Certified Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing from Columbia University. While at Columbia, Theresa conducted research at the Obesity Research Center for over five years – focused on sleep quality and quantity and how it affects food cravings, resting energy expenditure, weight gain, food intake and timing, insulin resistance, inflammatory markers, cardiovascular disease risk, and more. Theresa also holds a Master’s in Human Nutrition with a focus on the interplay between sleep and food intake. Theresa has worked in numerous environments, ranging from inner city acute care hospitals to helping patients manage both chronic and acute conditions in an outpatient setting.
