Tuomas Syrjänen is a digital entrepreneur and culture change expert who specializes in advising global businesses on how to re-engineer business models and harness emerging tech to create value in a post-digital world. In 2000, together with three co-founders, he set up Futurice. Tuomas served as CEO between 2008 and 2018 steering Futurice to become a global business and lead to a process for the company to evolve from tech consultancy to design to C-level advisory, working with clients including Ford, E.ON, Nordea Bank, and Moneycorp. He also helped shape Futurice’s non-hierarchical culture of trust, transparency, freedom, and responsibility.
Tuomas now has a new role heading up the company’s AI initiatives aimed at enabling clients to exploit the full potential of AI and machine learning. This includes Futurice Exponential a division within Futurice which aims to help knowledge work organizations - including Futurice - to enable tapping into organizational knowledge, faster & more effective workflow and better decision making with data & AI. Ultimately the goal is to help companies refresh their operating model and renew their business offer.
Outside Futurice, Tuomas is on the board of directors for Fira - a 250M€ construction company building systemic change in construction with the help of data & AI, F-Secure cybersecurity company, Vaisala, Taaleri, Vake - Finland’s Governmental development agency and Aito.ai - Futurice’s AI technology spin-off.
