Yonas Beshawred is the Founder and CEO at StackShare. They're on a mission to transform the way that all SaaS tools and infrastructure services are bought and sold at StackShare.
Yonas Beshawred, 33, founder and CEO of StackShare, a LinkedIn for software developers based in San Francisco, California says "it's difficult to pitch a room full of VCs regardless of their race or gender." But as a Black founder, "there's additional cognitive load because you are thinking about race in the back of your mind...."
I decided that the thing within my immediate control is my company’s performance, so that’s what I’ve focused on and I always encourage other founders to do the same. Is this unfair? Probably. And we (Black people) will correct that once we’re in a position to, like some of us already are. But for now, unfortunately, we just need to play the game and make sure we work twice as hard to win.
