Giddy is looking for an experienced editor to join our award-winning editorial team. This role will focus specifically on developing features, regular columns and similar op/ed content. You will help lead the team in developing the voice and tonality of these columns, selecting the best available experts and freelance writers and managing your stable of columnists to ensure the steady production of daily content.

This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and we’re looking for a candidate willing to be flexible, able to pitch in on a variety of tasks, and interested in contributing to the success of a fairly new publication. The ideal candidate will be an experienced editor with a network of writers. Enthusiasm, energy and positivity are required super-powers.

Who You’ll Be:

Works well in a team environment and easily integrates with other in-house teams

Assigns and produces a large number of stories on sexual health, ensuring an exciting mix of editorial content

Self-motivation a must—whether you’re pitching stories to the boss, commissioning freelancers, or spending all day line-editing

Adaptable and open to brand messaging, voice and tonality

Requirements:

Five years’ experience editing in a professional capacity, preferably with a focus on op/ed content

Familiarity with digital publishing, social media and SEO best practices

Excellent story development and line-editing skills

Comfort with topics related to sex and sexuality

Familiarity with AP style

Experience working at a daily paper, magazine (print or digital) or similar publication

Knowledge and/or experience in health, medical or sexual wellness-related subject matter
