Audience Engagement and SEO Specialist

The Associated Press seeks a journalist who is motivated, talented and passionate about experimentation to join our growing team of diverse journalists focused on digital audiences. We’re looking for an audience engagement and search engine optimization specialist to help us understand our audiences’ interests and needs so we can best serve and engage them. Reporting to a deputy director on our Digital News team and based in New York, you will collect and analyze data to help support the development of strategies focused on organic growth, engagement and content strategy across AP’s direct-to-consumer website, mobile app, newsletters and social channels. You’ll place a special focus on our SEO efforts, developing organic search engine campaigns; completing content gap, keyword and competitor analyses; optimizing existing content; and recommending changes to on-page SEO factors and site architecture. That includes monitoring and anticipating Google Trends data.
