Amy Baldwin George is an accomplished writer, reporter, public relations professional, LinkedIn makeover artist and the founder of By George Communications. Put simply, Amy helps people, companies and organizations build credibility and grow their careers or businesses through storytelling and PR.

As a journalist, Amy won awards; as a PR pro, she earned Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America.

Prior to By George, Amy did PR for Wells Fargo Asset Management. Her clients appeared in AP, Barron's, Bloomberg, CNBC, The Financial Times, NYT, Reuters, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and more. Throughout her career, she also has helped clients demonstrate subject expertise in bylined articles published by CNN.com, Financial Planning, InvestmentNews, The Washington Post and more.

While being a journalist prepared Amy to be a communications and PR pro, her love of storytelling is a life-long endeavor. In kindergarten, she received a typewriter for Christmas and never looked back. By high school, she was writing for the teen section of the Dayton Daily News and winning awards on her high school debate team. Her college internships included the AP's Paris bureau.

After earning a journalism degree from Ohio University, Amy worked as a journalist for 13 years, including posts on the business desks at the AP in New York and The Charlotte Observer. In NYC, she covered the markets following the tech bubble through the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. In Charlotte, she created a personal finance column, “Out of the Red,” which won a “Best in Business Columns” award from the national Society of American Business Editors and Writers.

For several years, Amy was a contributing columnist for Inc., writing about PR, communications and entrepreneurship. She is a past president of the Ballantyne chapter of Women In Networking (WIN) and past member of Women's Impact Fund and Business Leaders of Charlotte.

Amy earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College and E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. She further had an area of concentration in French. She lives in Charlotte with her husband and two daughters.
