I am the Director of Communications for EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO), the organization founded by the creators of Earth Day in 1970—Senator Gaylord Nelson and Denis Hayes. Denis remains on our Board as a principal advisor to EDO.
Prior to joining EDO, I spent 25 years as a journalist with the BBC, based in the UK. I worked across news, current affairs, economics, and political reporting, contributing to flagship programs including Newsnight, Panorama, and The Money Programme.
In my final eight years at the BBC, I transitioned to senior development roles, first heading unscripted development for BBC Wales, then leading history development for the corporation from London, where I helped manage a joint venture with Discovery Communications. In 2011, I moved to Discovery directly, working in the US entertainment industry across Washington DC, New York, and Los Angeles as VP of Production and Development for Warner Discovery's unscripted commissioning.
I subsequently served as Senior Vice President of Development for seven years at INE, a leading Los Angeles-based production company, working on creating, writing, developing and selling origina unscripted content to all the major 'tv' buyers, before joining EDO in 2023.
I'm always pleased to suggest experts, resources, and commentary for articles covering media, environmental issues—including human health, biodiversity loss, renewable energy, green skills development, activism, and climate education—as well as provide insights into Earth Day's origins, evolution, and impact.
