Segal is the author of the bestelling and award-winning book on crisis management: “Crisis Ahead — 101 Ways to Prepare for and Bounce Back from Disasters, Scandals, and Other Emergencies “ (Nicholas Brealey) which was rated one of best new crisis management books to read in 2020 and 2021 — and one of the best crisis management books of all time — by BookAuthority.org.
He is the former marketing strategies columnist for The Wall Street Journal’s StartUpJournal.com, the author of two PR handbooks, co-author of “Leadership in Trying Times: Advice to Lead and Succeed”, and a freelance writer whose articles have appeared in The Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and other publications.
Segal hosts the “Crisis Management Minute” podcast that features his commentary about the best practices for preventing, responding to, managing and recovering from business-related crisis situations. Episodes can be heard of Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and wherever podcasts can be heard. He hosted the “Crisis Ahead” podcast in 2020.
Segal is the former CEO of two trade associations, a PR consultant to hundreds of clients, and press secretary for Democratic and Republican members of Congress and political candidates.
