
Sheeka Sanahori
Sheeka is a freelance journalist and video producer with several years experience in reporting, video production and content strategy. She currently writes about heritage travel, family travel, food, history, the outdoors and the U.S. South.
As Director of Video for Lonely Planet, Sheeka was responsible for the creative vision of Lonely Planet video across all platforms. She led a global team of producers, editors and freelancers to create editorial, marketing and commercial videos.
Sheeka has also managed content creation for Netflix and USA Today and consulted for international media companies like VTV and Magzter. As an International Center for Journalists' Bringing Home the World fellow, Sheeka produced and shot a series of videos about wildlife conservation in Kenya. CUNY selected her for the Entrepreneurial Journalism Creators Program, which she completed in 2022.
Sheeka was a McCormick scholar at Northwestern University, where she earned her Master's degree from Medill's Media Strategy and Leadership program. She received her Bachelor's degree in Broadcast News from the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism.
